BARRY ERX
REPORT BACK: Ground Planning / Toilets / Lighting and Electrical (Brett Cavanagh in the absence of Richard Mark)
Things would start happening in the new year.

Tent and Seating (Pastor Steven Frank)
There has been much confusion over the size of the campaign. A final decision was reached between the ministers and Angus in that an 8000 seater tent would be required.
We are to have faith for God's provision of a tent, or......good weather.

Prayer and follow-up (Florence Eden)
Church prayer leaders and their individual groups have been meeting, and will continue to meet, as and when they are led.

PRAYER LEADERS
An Interdenominational Prayer Meeting was held at the Dutch Reformed Church and was well attended.
An Interdenominational Christmas Service is to be held in December - the possibility of combining this with prayer for the campaign would be looked into.

FLORENCE

We need women and other races to volunteer.

BARRY ERX
Finances & Fundraising (Wine Moolman)
A meeting was held and a committee formed.
A bank account was opened. Details as follows:
The Angus Buchan Peace Campaign
Nedbank Branch 134925 Account No. 1349 107417
We would like to thank those that have donated - R200 was donated - R100 of which has been used for Banner material.
One box of paper was donated by the Dutch Reformed Church.
Printing of Minutes etc. is being sponsored by Toro Designs.
Figure of R100 000 was excessive.
Need figures from the various portfolios so that a more realistic amount can be arrived at.
Donators need to know how much is needed and where it is going to be used.
When a budget is arrived at, it will be presented to all the churches in the region.
All the Service Clubs will be written to.
Pledges and challenges to go in the Midlands News - not only an encouragement for donations but a form of advertising.
The Internet could be used for this as well.
A luncheon with a celebrity guest speaker. Tickets to be sold to the "suppliers" of local industries as well as the industries themselves, and individuals.
Ada McEwan arranges "Cakeless Cake Sales" - especially for busy people - instead of baking a cake, simply donate whatever amount you can.
Ada is wanting more volunteers to add to her list. She can be contacted at 036-3526733.
Steve suggested a "Campaignathon" in the footsteps of the "Bibliathon".

CHURCH LEADERS
Angus thanked the pastors - he was grateful for the opportunity before this meeting of being able to discuss and clarify certain issues with them. Angus gave a very inspirational talk. A reading was taken from Joel 2:1 (The day of the Lord is coming. It is close at hand). We must fish for souls, and take Estcourt and the surrounding areas for Jesus. This is to be a team effort. It is not "our" campaign, but "God's" campaign. We need unity otherwise it won't happen. Too much focus is being put on the budget - we do not need R100 000, and we do not need to put ourselves under such pressure. We could even do without the tent and put the R20 000 (when we get it) into transport, advertising etc. Prayer is the foundation of every part of the campaign. We should get callouses on our knees - 2 Chronicles 7:14 tells us to humble ourselves and pray, and God will hear and will heal our land.

NEXT MEETING: Tuesday 23rd January 2001 at 6 p.m. in the Methodist Church Hall.
